Objection

An objection is a legal process that allows a person to contest a decision or notice. For example, someone can file an objection against a payment order if they believe the claim is unjustified.

For residents in Germany or Austria, it is crucial to adhere to the deadlines for filing an objection, as these are typically very short. In the case of a payment order, the objection period is two weeks from receipt (§ 694 ZPO). A common mistake is submitting the objection too late, which results in the notice being upheld.
