Fine Notice
A fine notice is an official document issued by an authority to announce a monetary penalty for an administrative offense. For example, if someone is caught speeding, they may receive a fine notice detailing the amount of the fine.
Practical relevance: It is crucial to take the fine notice seriously, as it contains deadlines for appealing the decision. In Germany, you typically have two weeks to contest the notice if you disagree with it. Failing to do so will make the notice legally binding. Relevant law is § 67 OWiG (Administrative Offenses Act).
